Tracy's Heart

Tracy's Heart is a ministry to women of the D. R. Congo who are suffering the effects of multiple rapes. In the Congo wars are fought by raping the women. The husbands are often murdered, and the women are brutally ravaged. The women are usually taken captive and used as sex slaves, leaving the children with neither parent.

Tracy Miner Tracy Miner was a secretary for Ed & Brenda Buell (missionaries in Bukavu, D. R. Congo) who traveled with to Bukavu in 2007. After meeting some of the rape victims her heart was broken, and she wanted to somehow help. Before she had time to develop any real plans she passed away from an enlarged heart. Her husband, Doug, along with their 4 daughters, started Tracy's Heart.

In 2008 a group of six men from Maryland Community Church in Terre Haute, Indiana traveled with the Buells to the Congo. Their mission was to repair a house for the Buells to live in as well as a house for Tracy's Heart. Tracy's Heart Center opened on Easter Sunday, 2009. The Center is ministering to the rape victims to restore them physically, spiritually mentally. The women are also trained in a job skill so they are able to leave the Center and provide for themselves and their children.

Founding Forty Program

ACM International has been managing the Center since its inception. However, funding has not met the financial needs to keep the center open. The Center requires about $1,000 per month just to meet expenses. In an effort to fully fund the ministry, the Founding Forty Program has been established. ACM International is seeking 40 families or groups that will provide monthly support in the amount of $25. This would insure that we could keep the house for Tracy's Heart.

We encourage families to pray about this matter and see if God would lead them to partner with Tracy's Heart Center to see that these women and their families can be ministered to. In His Word, God commands us to care for orphans & widows:

James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
